Hi dj, thanks for your helpful answer. Intermittent connection and freeze remained. Windows 7 would not have drivers and apps to turn on and use the hardware. It told me that my device was installed and ready to use.
T24 have been fighting with my computer IBM T 7wm for over 12 hours now trying to get the stupid thing to connect to the internet wirelessly. I try to update and everything but no luck. Last time I tried, after my last post but before your most recent post, the T42 was still had the Acquiring an Address problem, but it ‘saw’ 3 other networks in range neighbours’.
But as for the wireless device driver, I’d be looking to Broadcom if the laptop is stock. And its a thinkpad t42 r4u if that helps. Please try again now or at a later time. Machine is a T42 Type KEG After much searching I came across a select from list with type on it, along with 3 other variants of type none of which were KEG, but I think the page I got directed to was the same for all T42 variants. These are Pentium “M” and only support a 32 bit OS.
